My wife turned on our furnace for the first time of the year yesterday. The Furnace is approx 5 years old. It kicks on for 2 minutes and then shuts down. When is originally turned on the two diagnostic lights are flashing rapidly after you hear the furnace shut off light one is off and light two is flashing slowly. Is there an easy solution for this. I have two small children and the house is getting colder by the minute.

You need to post the full model number and then observe diag 1 and diag 2 lights so that the exact diagnostic code can be determined. There should be a label on the furnace that gives you the meanings of the diagnostic codes.

By model number I assume that you mean the number which is the title to my post G40uh-36a-070-03 and by the indicator lights I assume you mean what was listed in the text for my post, 1 is off and 2 is flashing slowly. I have read the side which I still did not understand which is why I entered this website to ask for clarification. Thank you for your delayed response without providing a clear answer.

I am sorry that our attempt to make sure we were starting off with accurate information offended you. The model number provided in your first post was not complete, and we wanted to make sure that you were providing the correct diagnostic code. Further, I apologize that someone didn't answer your post quicker, but we do not have anyone that monitors the forum every hour of the day.

If you still have the original ignition control, you should check the air prove switch and the vent system. Basically, the furnace control is looking at the vent pressure switch to determine if the inducer circuit is working. The code you have could be anything from a defective pressure switch, blocked vent, dirty induced draft blower wheel or housing, blocked pressure tubing, or pressure port.
