If you are repairing a Lennox heating appliance that has been under water, safety should be your first concern when it comes to making the decision about which parts to replace. Secondly, the long term reliability of the appliance should be considered. Generally speaking, any control that is part of the furnace's safety controls, or any electrical part that is part of the furnace's gas train (gas valves, regulators, gas pressure sensors), should be replaced if they have been underwater, regardless of whether or not the part is working after the unit has been dried out. This includes, but is not limited to the following parts:
Gas valves
Gas Pressure regulators
Auxillary Limit Switches
Fan /Limit Switches
Integrated ignition / blower control circuit boards
Bi-metal safety pilots switches
Limit controls
Ignition controls
Combustion air proving switches |
